The Toddy Palm or Palmyra Palm can reach a height of up to 30 metres and up to 1.7 metres in diameter. Fruits are orange and ripen during April-May and appear in bunches. They are tender, hence enveloped in a fleshy calyx. They strikingly resemble the coconut in taste. The shell of this fruit is smooth, thin and leathery.
