sharp-pointed knife, carving knife, flower-shaped cookie cutter

Instructions

Fruit Carving Carrot Flower_Preparation

  1. Select a large, bright orange carrot and wash it thoroughly.
     

  2. Cut it into disks about 1/4 inch thick.
     

  3. Cut to flower shape using the cookie cutter.
     

  4. Cut a circle about 1 cm. in diameter in the center and then carefully remove some of the flesh from around the circle. Form the stamens by cutting five shallow grooves crisscrossing the center.
     

  5. From the center, cut grooves toward the edge to form 11 or 12 petals. Flowers like this may be used in soups and stir-fried dishes.
