The Thai Kitchen Restaurant My name is Gung "Prawn in Thai language", I established The Thai Kitchen 5 years ago, at Trent Lock, underneath The Steamboat Inn, this was after several years of discussion and planning with my wife Maura. It was a great venue and a happy home for the restaurant, for two and a half years, but we were limited there in many ways. We knew that we needed to move on, and, when we saw the Lady in Grey, we felt that it was the right place. In order to improve our service we welcome, any comments you would like to make after your meal, about any aspect of your visit. If you would like to pass on your thoughts formally, you can complete a "comments" slip, and post it in the box on the bar, or if you'd rather just mention to us, ask for me "Gung" or have a word with one of our staff. If you have already visited Thailand, you will have begun to understand how central the enjoyment of food is to our culture. Eating a good meal in Thailand is an experience, that appeals to all the senses, and is totally addictive. It is our aim to try to create that, same special atmosphere here, to enable you to enjoy your food as fully as possible!
We have many plans to improve and develop the restaurant here, we hope to keep on surprising you over the coming months and years, until we make it perfect! It was our mission when we set out to create a restaurant, that would provide Authentic Thai Food, served in an atmosphere evocative of Thailand, and to offer it at a reasonable price.
which we consider to be important, to the total enjoyment of Thai Food, Food lovers of all nationalities probably have strong opinions on how their favourite "National Dishes" can be best enjoyed, and I am no exception to this rule. Having said that, Thai food is delicious and is flexible enough, to be eaten as you choose, but we think that our advice can turn "good food" into something "very special".
