Ingredients 1lb beefsteak (use either rump or sirloin cuts)
Sauce ingredients 1 tbs lime juice 1 tbs fish sauce - nam pla 1 tbs dark sweet soy - see eu dam 3 tablespoons shallots (purple onions) sliced very thinly 1/2 tbs palm sugar 1/2 tbs powdered dried red Thai chilies 1 tablespoon sliced chinese chives 1 teaspoon coriander leaves,chopped Method 1. Combine the ingredients to make the sauce. 2. Taste and if required add extra sugar/honey, lime juice and/or powdered dried red Thai chilies.
3. Barbeque the steak to whatever "doneness" you prefer 4. slice into slices an eighth of an inch thick. 5. Then cut the slices into bite sized pieces. 6. Place on the lettuce, and pour the sauce over the steak. Served as a one-plate dinner (for a large meal), or serve with soup and salad for an adequate meal for four.
