A mini -bus will pick you up at your hotel to take you on a scenic drive through undulating hills and valleys, lush tropical woods and past picturesque villages.
 
Take a break at a hot - spring a Mae Kacharn where you can mingle with the locals.
 
Stops are also made at an Akha hilltribe village and a Yao hilltribe village.

Each tribe has its own unique colourful dress, courtship rituals, puberty rites, games, dances, language and dialect though they both share animist beliefs and honour forest and guardian spirits.
 
Drive on to the flourishing border town of Maesai where you can visit a jade - carving factory.
 
Then proceed on to the ancient town of Chiangsaen, which was the first Kingdom in Thailand, situated on the banks of the Mekhong River.
 
Drive further on to the world - renowned Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Laos and Burma meet.

Return back to Chiang Mai in the late evening.
