| A pleasant l hour trip by train from Chiang Mai to Mae Ta station (where you will be among the local people to mix and talk with them) passing picturesque villages in the countryside. Continue by van to Lampang Elephant Conservation Center 20 minutes drive) to watch huge magnificent elephants being trained for lumber work. The Conservation Center contains an elephant hospital. Enjoy a short ride on one of them. Then proceed to the town of Lampang for lunch after which you will be taken for a leisurely ride in and around the town by horse - carriage. Return to Chiang Mai making a stop at the ancient Lampang Luang temple and arrive back by late afternoon. |
