The near islands are a cluster of three islands 5-7km off Pattaya Beach. The islands are Koh Sak, Koh Larn and Koh Khrok.
Although the near islands are the most heavily dived sites in the area, we have noticed a marked improvement in visibility and soft coral growth over the past three years.
Visibility on all types of dives ranges between 20 / 100 feet (6 / 30 meters) depending on time of year, weather, sea conditions and currents (which are usually very mild).
Pattaya is blessed with very good weather conditions, so we are able to dive throughout the year with very little interference from inclement weather.
The marine life is what one would expect from the Indo China Sea and the Indian Ocean, and includes Sting Rays, Nurse Sharks, the occasional Black Tip Reef Shark, Barracudas, King Fish, Long Toms, Angels, Trevalleys, Tangs, Damsels and File Fish to mention but a few.
In the last few years the area has also become a breeding ground for Turtles, and they can usually be seen on every dive.
There are few large phelagics in the area so the divers need not worry about coming face to face with sharks!
